Thank you for considering Icing on the Cake for your special event. My goal is to create a cake that will be as exciting and memorable as well as a delicious focal point of your reception.
Please telephone or email me to set up an appointment as every cake is baked fresh to order. Creating your cake is an exciting process starting with your consultation at which, you will be able to look through my extensive portfolio, cake books and magazines to come up with ideas and designs for your own special cake. I love designing cakes using various techniques from beautiful sculpted sugar flowers to blown sugar and chocolate creations. Speaking of cake, you will be able to sample a selection of four different cakes of your choice. If there is a flavor that you do not see please inform me as I am not afraid to experiment. Vegan Lovers – send me your favorite recipes and I will create the rest.
Cost for a cake depends on the complexity of the design and flavors. Prices start at $3.75 per person for a very simple cake with buttercream decorations. Cakes covered with rolled fondant begin at $4.50 per person. This price includes simple royal icing decorations. Prices go up with the addition of designs that include hand-crafted sugar flowers, leaves, bows, ribbons, gold leafing, embossing, blown or pulled sugar, chocolate sculptures, etc. Hand sculpted cakes are priced by design.
Prices for groom's cakes also depend on the design and flavors. Minimum order for a groom's cake is $75.00.
Mini-cupcakes start at $2.00 each and go up with type of design. Regular cupcakes start at $2.50. There is an extra charge for multiple flavors.
Cookie favors start at $2.50 per cookie and goes up depending on the design of the cookie. Each cookie is hand decorated and personally designed. They add a lovely touch to any event and make a wonderful take home treat.
Cake flavors and Dessert menu are located under the Desserts page. Before you meet with the Chef, you will need to choose four different cakes with fillings and icings that you would like to sample at the consultation. I will need to know this information at least four days ahead of time as everything is from scratch and made to order. Sorry, specialty desserts, truffles and petit fours are not available for sampling. My consultations last about 45 minutes.
Deposit & Payment Information: There is a $100.00 non-refundable deposit that reserves your date. This deposit is applied to your cake order. If you change your date we will do our best to accommodate your new date, but can not guarantee it. Additional deposits are required with your contract. The balance will be due the week before your event.
Cancellation Policy: If the event is cancelled 60 days or more before the date, a full refund (minus $100.00) of the deposit will be given. If the event is cancelled between 30-59 days before the date, a 50% refund will be given. There is no refund for cancellations within 30 days of the event.
Delivery: There is a $35.00 charge for local deliveries. The delivery charge for your area will be discussed at the time of your order. In the event of bad weather (i.e. heavy snow, ice, freezing rain, etc.) delivery may be detained or cancelled. Cake may still be picked up from bakery location. No refund will be given.
Cake Stands & etc.: There is a refundable security deposit for the use of my cake stands, wooden platters, cake plates and columns. This deposit will not be returned if my items are damaged or lost. There is a pick-up fee, which is subject to location, that will be charged since I do not charge a rental fee. |
